Paris: Thirsty Thursday

Paris drinking scene is one of the best in the world, with many wine bars, craft beer bars and fashion cocktail clubs. That’s why Anne Charpentier, from @cosmo_expat gave us a selecion of the best places in Paris to go on a #ThirstyThursday … well, or any other day!

The Buddha Bar

The Buddha-Bar, not only a bar, but also restaurant, and hotel franchise was created in 1996. A place that since it first opened, has become a big spot for wealthy tourists visiting Paris. Because of how famous this bar is, it has opened locations in a number of other cities around the world, such as Manila, Dubai, London, Milan, Mexico and a few others.

If you are fond of eclectic, avant-garde music, you will find this place of your liking. The bar/restaurant made a name for itself with its Zen lounge music CDs and remains a hit since it first opened.

The theme of the place is just as its name suggests, Buddha-themed, with an orientalist lounge ambiance. You will be able to experience amazing cocktails in the upstairs bar with the form of a dragon, and the serving of Asian cuisine in a two-story restaurant area with a large Buddha statue.

Little Red Door

Little Red Door is a cocktail bar that stands at number 24 in the list of the world’s 50 best bars, but this is not the only reason why you should visit this bar. If you are a person that prefers having the feeling of a neighborhood bar, this bar welcomes you with it.

In here your drinking habits get turned upside down and that’s the interesting part of it. Its menu consists of only images, no names nor ingredients are in sight. The idea is that how an image moves you should influence your choice of what you want to drink. You can always ask for the ingredients, but where is the fun in that?

This bar has definitely the winning formula between keeping it as it is and trying something different. So do not hesitate to swing by one day and give it a try by yourself. You might find some serious cocktail drinkers from other parts of the world, as well as local Parisians.

Shake n’ Smash

Opened less than 5 years ago, Shake n’ Smash is a bar/restaurant that not only does a great number of quality drinks, but also lets you get a cocktail in a flask to go for whenever you feel like drinking somewhere that is not necessarily at a bar.

In a sexy, chic and cozy environment you will be able to enjoy their outstanding hospitality, excellent signature cocktails made with skill and care, and treat yourself to their gourmet and refined cuisine.

So if you love a well-made drink, are looking for a place to relax with friends, or to hit the jackpot with some really good food, Shake N’ Smash should definitely be on your list of bar/restaurant stops while in Paris.
